Description
Spring pins, also known as roll pins, are intended to be inserted into a hole that is smaller in diameter than the pin itself. The pin is spring-loaded so that it can shrink in diameter when installed, allowing for a tight fit while exerting a retaining force against the hole walls.
As it attempts to expand to its resting diameter after being compressed into a hole, the pin exerts a force against the sides. This force causes friction, which keeps the pin securely in place.
